Watching others become debt-free

My TMMO friend who writes Debt Free Revolution just became debt-free this week. (I’m so proud of you, Ana!) She is a shining example of how hard work and gazelle intensity can pay off. Ana delivered pizzas, sold stuff, and stayed in school all at the same time. She even has what’s known as a reluctant spouse (a spouse not entirely on board with the Dave Ramsey plan) to deal with. But none of it stopped her from reaching the ultimate goal of debt freedom. And what’s more, Ana is determined to move forward with the steps including writing a blog series about investing. This is a woman on a mission.

While Will and I didn’t have the same sort of “gazelle intensity” that Ana obviously had, I often think that’s because we didn’t have to. I wish we had been more intense because I think we would’ve felt more satisfied. But with our income, we kind of went through Baby Step 2 rather easily. It’s certainly not a bad thing to have a good income; however, I think the victory against debt is much sweeter when you have to fight for it. And Ana has fought for it. We should all stand up and give her some applause.

  1. Hey thanks for the big pat on the back :) Although I didn’t actually sell things: I tried to convince hubby for months and months to sell his truck. It was the last debt we paid off and it took since August to do it (never EVER buy brand new off the lot….).

Oh, the series on investing, nicknamed “Investing for Complete and Utter Idiots” started back in January. It’s the basic basics, for people like me who just aren’t very educated on the subject (yet).

  2. I’m a fan of Ana’s site, and a fellow My TMMO’er myself - that’s great news!
